Mere Christianity

Mere Christianity, written in the genre Christian literature, was published by C.S. Lewis in 1952. Clive Staples Lewis (C.S. Lewis) has become one of the most influential Christian authors in the modern world. Lewis has written at least 21 books and been on many broadcasts. Lewis is a rather unemotional writer, because he tends to look at the ideas more from a logical analysis rather than just emotion.

This book Mere Christianity was originally recorded as a broadcast to the people during World War 2. It was later written down in a book format.

In class we wrote a personal response essay concerning the book. I chose these three topics:

1. Let's Pretend to dress up like Christ.

This section talks about how in order to be more Christ-like we need to put on a mask, but that eventually that mask will become who we actually are.

2. Is Christianity hard or easy?

This point talks about how Christianity is both easy and hard. We have relief because we do not have to carry our burdens on our own thus easy, but also we are expected certain behavior thus harder.

3. Christian Marriage

In this point I explain the gist of this passage how marriage is not just the feeling of being in love, but rather a commitment and a promise to the other person.
